A 13-year-old boy was found dead in the school toilet that led to the arrest of a 16-year-old in River Valley High School, Singapore on Monday (19 July). It was believed that the victim was axed to death.
Reasons for the attack are still unknown as the investigations are ongoing. The Secondary Four pupil will be remanded for psychiatric assessment and may be charged on Tuesday with murder, police said.
A lockdown of the school was reportedly put in place and teachers and pupils were ordered to remain in their classrooms. They were released only after 3 pm, a media report said.
Some of the parents had shared with news reporters that they received unnerving messages and phone calls from their kids between 11.30 and 12 noon.
