The chief of a police station in Kajang along with three of his officers and four civilian women aged between 21 and 37 were nabbed in a raid by Bukit Aman while they were partying in a special room at the police station on Tuesday evening.
A team from Bukit Aman's Integrity and Standard Compliance department (JIPS) launched a raid at 6 pm yesterday following a public tip-off and found the officers and the civilians were dancing while singing karaoke in the dark room on the second floor of the station. The items found and seized in the room included bottles of liquor and ketum juice, a swivelling disco ball light, speakers, audio system equipment, microphones,a recorder, and a television. An obscene photograph believed to be of one of the officers with a woman was also found at the scene.
The officers detained were a sub-inspector (station chief), two corporals and a support corporal.
Bukit Aman JIPS director Datuk Azri Ahmad said that the incident was clear violation of conduct and a breach of Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP), adding that they would not compromise with anyone who breached the rules, including police personnel.
